IPL Laser Hair Reduction

IPL or Pulsed-Light systems work by emitting pulses of intense lamplight into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.

Traditional waxing and threading treatments, which essentially rip the hair from the skin, can be quite painful. Most people, however, find pulsed light treatments to be significantly more comfortable. In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair-free all the time!

Thanks to its advanced technology, our pulsed light system works several times faster than other light-based hair removal systems, making treatment times even shorter!

FAQ's

What to do before your Laser Hair Removal Appointment:

* DO NOT
o Tweeze, Wax or use Hair Removal Lotions or Bleaching Agents for 2 weeks prior to your appointment!
* DO
o Shave the area to be treated within 12 hours.
o To avoid having to reschedule your appointment, minimize sun exposure for 4 weeks before

What body areas can I get treated? Any area except around the eyes. The underarms, legs, back, bikini line, face, neck, etc., can all be treated... fast!

What are the treatment sessions like? Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, a wand-like hand piece will be moved over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. Once this is completed, any excess gel will be wiped away from your skin and you're ready to go.

What should most people expect after treatment? Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the area treated shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary.

What is the difference between Laser Treatments and Pulsed-Light Treatments? Pulsed-Light systems and lasers are very similar and remove hair in basically the same way. However, pulsed-light systems use a new technology that removes hair up to 10 times faster than lasers. As a result, Pulsed-Light treatments can fit even the busiest person's schedule.

Will IPL Laser Hair Removal remove white hair? No. There is no melanin in white hair, and the melanin is what the laser looks for in order to successfully remove the hair during treatments.

Will I be able to get a suntan in between my sessions? This is the age old question…The Darker your skin become the harder it is to treat. Both the skin and the hair follicles contain melanin and the system looks for the melanin in the hair follicles to stop the hair growth. Getting a tan can affect the degree of hair loss since the system will now have trouble differentiating between the melanin in your skin and the hair follicles.

Why are the Treatment sessions spaced apart? Your hairs life cycle consists of three different phases and the hair removal process works best when the hair is in the Anagen stage. Anagen Phase-Active phase of hair growth and generally last for several months. At any given time, most of our body hair is in this part of the hair growth cycle. Catagen Phase-During this brief phase, the hair bulb regresses and begins to shrink. Telogen Phase-at the end of this resting phase, which typically last a few months, hair is released from the shriveled follicles and the anagen phase begins again.

Bikini Area: If you are having Laser Hair Removal treatments done in the bikini area, we recommend that you bring an extra pair of loose fitting underwear (such as boxers) to change into after your session, as this will prevent chaffing in the area after your treatment. During your treatment, you may either wear a pair of underwear, which we can work around, or we will provide a towel to drape the area with.

Legs/Underarms/Torso/Arms: We will provide you with a Spa Gown to wear during your treatment to keep your clothing from getting messy.
